Recently we were asked by a client to develop a web print store. This would enable users to customize pre-designed templates of flyers, brochures and business cards. While the flyers customized can be downloaded by users as PDF, the brochures and the business cards were printed by the print shop.
Once the task was selected by the users, thumbnails of the pre-designed templates were displayed. Mouse hover over the images displayed larger images of the templates.
The selected flyer was customized by user details from the database, if available. If required, the user could change these details.
The final customized PDF flyer could be downloaded by the user.
Enhancements added later on allowed users to design their own flyers. A powerful full feature text control provided users several options in designing their flyer.
The system was developed in asp.net using iTextSharp Library for PDF editing.
The system is operational and is generating continued 24×7 revenues for our client.
